About the Ball: Rawlings 1997 American League Championship Series baseball. Two versions of this ball were made, we now realize this is the first version - and it took several years to figure our why.
Take a close look at the stamping and see if you can spot the error (not to mention, issues with the logo as stated below) - compare it to the actual game version here.
It was replaced by a new game version and in addition to the error, the poorly executed logo on the lower panel was enough reason to scrap it. It features a pennant over a baseball diamond of the same color, without any borders to separate the two elements.
