About the Ball: A new home for the Cleveland Indians, a new commemorative game ball for collectors. This Inaugural Season ball was used by the Indians in 1994 to ring in their new home, Jacob's Field. It's a Bobby Brown American League ball with the typical color of stamping for that era of AL ball.
Only the second Special Event commemorative ball made, and it had been three years since the first and only other ball, the Comiskey Park Inaugural Season Ball. No worries, Major League Baseball and Rawlings would soon realize commemorative game balls were awesome, and production would soon pick up.
About the Event: 'The Jake" hosted its first regular season Cleveland Indians game on April 4, 1994, with the Tribe beating the Seattle Mariners 4-3. President Bill Clinton threw out the ceremonial first pitch.
