About the Ball: The Colorado Rockies used this ball in games leading up to the 1998 All-Star Game, which was played at Coors Field. It's the same commemorative logo used on the actual 1998 All-Star Official Game Ball, except in black. This is an NL Coleman baseball. The ball pictured actually came from a regular season pregame batting practice at another field, after the All-Star Game.
About the Event: Beginning in 1997, Rawlings and MLB made commemorative game balls to be used by each season's All-Star Game host team in regular season games leading up to the All-Star weekend. This is the 1998 Colorado Rockies edition, used only at home games at Coors Field that season.
